{February 15, 2014}   My Valentine

This is my Valentine tune… RIGHT ON!

{December 23, 2013}   There She Goes

{December 7, 2013}   Tiny Tree Christmas

TreeThis is my Christmas Tree in my new home 🙂  My first Holiday in my own place. It’s a small tree, only four feet tall. But you know what? It’s MINE!

I am loving having this house all to myself. I’m a solitary person as it is, so living in a house with three other people just didn’t work for me. I blast my music late every nigh, I sit at my kitchen table and write or work on my laptop. I use the restroom… and I don’t even close the door! Haha.

But really… I’m so happy in my OWN place.

Here’s a song I dedicate to my tiny, if sad looking, tree:

{November 23, 2013}   Holidays Are Approaching!

Lights

We’ve seen some snow here in New England- I woke up to a clean, crisp, white coating this morning. It’s a reminder that the Holidays are quickly approaching. Thursday is Thanksgiving already! I’m not a big fan of Thanksgiving. I’m not a big eater and poultry just isn’t for me. However there are only three days out of the year, Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas, when we have the whole family- brothers and sisters, nephews and nieces, aunts and uncles- all under the same roof at the same time. There’s laughing, of course there’s arguing but best of all… there’s family. So I smile, eat some peas, squash and bread and patiently wait for desert 🙂

I’ve already been listening to Christmas music. My shower playlist- Christmas music. Radio in my car- Christmas music. Radio in my Ambulance- Christmas music. And once I get my Christmas bonus- Christmas music while Christmas shopping!

My all-time favorite Christmas song is The Little Drummer Boy by the Trans Siberian Orchestra:

And a little more new-age is Tiny Tree Christmas by Guster:

{November 17, 2013}   In Love!

November 16, 2013, 10:05 pm– My brother and his wife welcomed their first child, named after my brother. Junior is seven pounds, two ounces and twenty inches long. I’m exploding with joy! I have not seen him yet but I will go to the hospital in the morning to see them.

{November 11, 2013}   Music is my Voice- “Plumb”

This lyrics video by Plumb, “Damaged”, is a beautifully crafted video. This song holds so much meaning for me and I think the video allows the viewer to feel a little bit of the raw emotion within the song:

In Plumb’s “Nice, Naïve and Beautiful”, if you listen to the violins at the beginning you can hear them crying sadness and misery. Towards the end, around “We’re all dealt our lumps of coal/What you do with it can turn beautiful”, you hear the violins change ’emotions’, if you will, and it sounds more like they’re crying from relief, happiness. Check it out:

***I may be a bit biased when I listen to music. The violins really catch my ear… maybe because I play the violin? Or because the violin truly does cry the emotions of the songs?

This next song by Plumb, “Manic”, hits very close to home. I grew up with a bipolar-manic-depressive mother. I’d say the lyrics in this song are pretty accurate:

I want Plump to sing me to sleep with this song every night:

{November 11, 2013}   WARNING: HOT video!

There is no denying that this video is hot! Now, usually I don’t understand how people, men or women, get turned on by porno or ‘sexy dancing’, but holy crap Batman! Who doesn’t love P!nk? Check it out:

{November 11, 2013}   My Playlist

1424339_700398149972343_971595137_n

“I’m gonna make it to the top, well let me show you, and if I’ve got to toughen up then that is what I’ll do, don’t make me a monster, baby, you’d be crazy, that’s for sure…” ~Jem

Nonessential information: I have a routine I must follow or I go completely ballistic- Go to Dunkin’ Donuts every Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday night at ten o’clock in the evening to get my medium, hot, French Vanilla, extra-extra with a shot of espresso and three ice cubes. Then I sit in my car in the parking lot, listening to music, and drink exactly half of the coffee before taking the long way home. I need this time, this constant, or I go totally ape-shit.

My current playlist is:
1.) “24” by Jem
2.) “Good Enough” by Sarah McLaughlin
3.) “In the Arms of an Angel” by Sarah McLaughlin
4.) “Save Me” by Jem
5.) “Seduces Me” by Celine Dion
6.) “They” by Jem
7.) “Come Over Here” by Sarah Bettens
8.) “Dreamin’ of You” by Celine Dion
9.) “Adia” by Sarah McLaughlin
10.) “Do What You Have to Do” by Sarah McLaughlin
11.) “Falling Into You” by Celine Dion
12.) “Fire on the Mountain” by Rob Thomas
13.) “I Always Knew” by Jem
14.) “Just Stay Here Tonight” by Augustana
15.) “Thank You” by Dido

Because fifteen songs is way too many to post the videos of I chose a few of my favorites, three that really speak to me at the moment:

{October 6, 2013}   Expanding my Musical Horizons
