{November 17, 2013}   In Love!

November 16, 2013, 10:05 pm– My brother and his wife welcomed their first child, named after my brother. Junior is seven pounds, two ounces and twenty inches long. I’m exploding with joy! I have not seen him yet but I will go to the hospital in the morning to see them.

{September 4, 2013}   I’m With The Band

Steel Pans

This evening I went and did something crazy… I tried out for a Steel Drum Band and was chosen! Mind you I’d never touched a Steel Drum, let alone seen one in real life, before tonight. They showed me a few things, I banged them out with no problem and perfect rhythm and BANG! I’m in! It’s pretty exciting and gives me something to look forward to. And it’s sooo much fun! It doesn’t do any miracles for my shoulder and back pain but the emotional benefits seem to outweigh the negative physical effects. We’re going to get together every Tuesday night from now until May, when we will participate in a Steel Drum Festival. I’m already nervous but I’m excited at the same time. I love music, I love playing music and I’m thrilled to be a part of a musical group once again. It’s also a plus that I’m learning a new instrument 🙂

Man, it’s been much too long since I’ve been this excited about something.

{March 18, 2013}   Bad Girl to Good Girl

image

Wow, I’ve come a long way. In fact I’ve come from sitting in the back of a police cruiser a few years ago to riding shotgun with one of our finest. I just got off the phone with one of the Sergeants and he’s going to pick me up Friday night at 18:00 so I can ride around with him and possibly bust a few people. I’m so excited. I was going to ride with our female officer but she’s working week nights now and in our small town all of the exciting things happen on the weekend nights. So I happily accepted his offer for Friday. Maybe another time I can wiggle my way into her passenger seat.

It’s funny how some excitement can bring you loads of energy. Now what to do with it? Laundry? Paperwork? Boxing!
