I did a new painting. Nothing special. I still have to trim the edges. It’s a start, though. I haven’t painted anything other than walls since before Halloween last year. Not gonna lie- it feels good to create something from nothing again. I usually paint just female gay pride stuff, but I may branch out and include the guys next time, too. We’ll see.
Once I get my room finished I want to frame all of my paintings and hang them on one wall, museum-style. Once again, we’ll see. It’ll be awhile yet before my room gets finished.

{April 23, 2012}   The Art Of Being A Slob

It’s amazing how you let everything go when you’re working on a project. In my case, I’m working on a painting. My laundry is piled up, I have half empty coffee mugs all over my room, I haven’t gotten a shower since Saturday and it’s almost dangerous to walk through my room to my desk. There’s stuff scattered all over the floor. Talk about being a slob. The funny thing is, when I’m finished with this painting I’ll be disgusted with myself, but right now I’m consumed by the project and I don’t care about anything. Clean-up is going to be a bitch.

People have trouble understanding me when I’m creating something. I turn my phone off and ignore visitors. I don’t want to be bothered. I’m content. I wonder how many other people have slob-syndrome when working on a project. There’s no way I’m the only one.

{April 8, 2012}   Staying Busy

I spent about seven and a half hours painting this from my heart. My psychotherapist asked me for a painting for her office a few weeks ago & when I finished this one, I realized it will be perfect for her office.

I think I will frame this and keep it for myself 🙂
I spent about four hours painting this.

{March 27, 2012}   Birthdays and Funerals

Today is my mother’s birthday. She turns fifty-one years old today. Luckily, since she sent me such a nice email yesterday morning that I was able to pen a nice poem for her. I used water paint to make a background and then I wrote the poem in ink in the center. I also added a couple of accents to fill up the empty space. Here’s the “card” I made her:

On a side note, my Uncle’s service will be on Thursday at our Church. I must admit that the selfish part of me does not want to go because I don’t want to be surrounded by people. On the other hand, you’re supposed to be miserable at funerals, right?

{March 25, 2012}   Back in a Creative Mood

This is my latest painting. I feel like I haven’t done any painting in months.

This depicts my current mood and state of mind very well.

This is a self portrait.
